Coming Home

A JOURNEY INTO THE HEART AND RITUAL OF TEA CEREMONY

Join Kailee Smith and Carolynn Grey this coming October for a 40 day journey into the heart and ritual of tea ceremony.

This is your invitation to slow down and return to the earth, return to your body and return to your temple. Over our 6 weeks together, we will be softening and expanding into the sweet medicine of tea and learning all about her wisdom.

“Tea is an act complete in its simplicity.
When I drink tea, there is only me and the tea. The rest of the world dissolves.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh

Tea Ceremony

As the pace of life grows increasingly busy many of us are looking for a safe and quiet place to land, even if just for a moment. Tea ceremony is a beautiful ritual that allows us the opportunity to slow down and be present. It provides us with space to connect with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Tea brings us a feeling, a wisdom, a remembering - one that is unique to each person.

During tea ceremony, we will share 3-5 bowls of wild or organic tea in noble silence. We finish with an integrative and cleansing bowl of water, and open space for sharing and mindful conversation.

The tea served in ceremony is sourced ethically and is wild or organic, thus retaining its medicinal properties.

COMING HOME | A Journey into the Heart & Ritual of Tea Ceremony Course

Join Kailee Smith and Carolynn Grey this coming October for a 40 day journey into the heart and ritual of tea ceremony. This course is designed to give you everything you need to begin practicing tea on a daily basis, in ritual and in ceremony.

A note about tea

Many people will pour water over any plant and call it “tea”. You can have peppermint tea, hibiscus tea, blue lotus tea, but in actuality these are all herbal infusions or what some call “tisane.”  If we were to apply the same logic to tea, it would be called “tea tea.”

True tea is made from leaves from the camellia sinensis plant. For thousands of years this plant was revered for its medicinal properties, and became a vital ritual for those who consumed it.
